The evolving nature of asymmetric warfare and prolific use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and Explosively Formed Projectiles (EFP) has driven the evolution of the MRAP vehicle and the need for increased ballistic protection whilst maintaining mobility. The highly modular, multi-role JAIS range of vehicles represents this evolution.
Available in both 4×4 and 6×6 models, the JAIS provides the ideal balance between firepower, survivability and mobility for both conventional and asymmetric operations. A “crew citadel” protection system provides a foundation for crew survivability and shields against mine, IED and ballistic threats.
Due to the JAIS’ exceptional protection and mobility the vehicle can be deployed as an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) in some of the harshest operational environments. The vehicle features 60% greater protected space & payload capacity over traditional designs which can support troops deployed on multi-day missions with a full suite of weapons, ammunition and rations. An additional feature that places the JAIS on the leading edge of MRAP design, is its modularity, supporting multiple mission variants on the same platform including IFV, APC, ambulance, command & control, engineering and recovery. This drives down maintenance costs over the lifetime of the vehicle with commonality of parts across the entire fleet.
